Our "Vinyasa Silver" class is getting a new name!
BEND's Yoga for Longevity class is a unique approach to "vinyasa" style yoga (breath-to-movement). This class is paced slowly and intentionally and specifically utilizes somatic movement to improve overall balance, joint health, core strength, stability, and flexibility.
"Somatics" is a specialized practice that involves performing movement for the sake of movement. Throughout your asanas (postures), you will be guided to focus on the inner experience with the intent to expand your internal awareness. Unlike a typical "yoga" class, you won't be trying to do as many flows as possible. Instead, you will be moving into and through each asana in a way that teaches you something about your body and its abilities. Getting more in touch with your body through this practice will keep your joints happy and safe, and will provide you with a calmer, clearer approach to daily movement.
This class is non-heated and is enjoyable for all levels. We like to think of it as a great mid-day or lunch-break class that helps shake up your typical schedule of work, errands, etc.
