We get a lot of interest in our Yoga Teacher training
So, we’ve compiled a list of the most common questions we receive. If you do not find the information you’re curious about below, please click the “I would like more information” button at the bottom of the screen. We will be happy to help further in any way.
-
Nope!
Our program is for aspiring teachers, as well as those who simply want to deepen their knowledge of yoga and their own daily practice.
-
This is probably the most common question we receive, especially since the boom of online teacher trainings in the past few years.
With YTT’s, just as in a yoga class, everybody is different. We all have a different set of preferences and abilities. Ideally, you are choosing the YTT that is best for YOU.
With that said, there are so many small and meaningful reasons to choose an in-person YTT. You will be afforded the opportunity to build a community of fellow YTT participants, you will get hands-on learning, you acquire a better understanding of the body and it’s anatomy, you will acquire skills in adjustments and alignment, you will be able to brainstorm and collaborate with your peers and instructors, and so much more.
The most important this is this: You will not be alone.
Enrolling in an in-person YTT ensures that you will have support and allows you to experience shared energy and group learning and discovery. An in-person YTT gifts you the “magic” and “life-changing” moments that all graduates reference. It truly is the best decision.

A unique feature of this training is the scheduling format. The 200 hours will be covered over multiple weekends, a few weekends per month. Within less than 6 months, you can earn your certification!
This training prepares you for both teaching in a variety of settings, as well as specifically preparing you to teach at BEND. Additionally, the training includes a segment on Ayurveda and healthy lifestyle habits that will energize your daily life in multiple ways.

Registration with Yoga Alliance® provides a globally recognized credential in the fields of yoga teaching and training yoga teachers.
RYT = Registered Yoga Teacher (Yoga Alliance Registered)
CYT = Certified Yoga Teacher (Not Yoga Alliance Registered)
Some studios require a Yoga Alliance Accredited Certification from their teachers. BEND is one of these studios, and all of our Instructors are RYT (Registered Yoga Teachers).
-
Really, all you need is dedication and a love of yoga.
With that in mind, we do strongly recommend that applicants have a consistent existing practice prior to signing up, since a portion of the YTT will be physical.
-
Yes!
It is our goal to provide you with the knowledge and confidence to walk away from your training armed with the ability to lead a group practice suitable for teaching at a variety of studios. Within the training, you will learn BEND’s signature Mixed class.
Upon graduation, you will be able to inquire and apply for potential teaching opportunities at BEND. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your own voice as an instructor, and you will also learn how to build safe, effective flows. You’ll also gain essential information on the business side of starting your career as a yoga teacher.

Our training will provide a strong foundation in the physical aspects of yoga, including asana, alignment, anatomy, adjustments and modifications. We will discuss and practice methods for teaching, cues for each pose and how to give demonstrations.
In addition to the practice emphasis you will learn about what it means to do yoga “off the mat” and bring the philosophical teachings into your everyday interactions.
-
Our training is designed to work with the “everyday” participant.
Here is an example schedule from previous 200hr YTT's:
Friday evenings from 4:00 - 8:00pm
Saturdays from 6:30am - 3:30pm
Sundays from 6:30am - 2:30pm
Saturdays & Sundays will include a one-hour lunch break.
Our goal is to allow our participants to be able to still participate in normal weekend activities after training is complete!
-
Any hours of the training that are missed will need to be “made up” in order to fulfill the required hours for certification.
The makeup work will be a blend of home study assignments, written reflection, and one-on-one private instruction with a course instructor. There will be an additional charge for private instruction that is required for the completion of the training.
-
Enrollment does not guarantee graduation.
In order to pass the course and become a certified teacher you will attend all of the 180 hours of face-to-face instruction, complete the assigned homework between each phase of the training, and pay your tuition in full by your graduation date.
Homework will include readings, observations, reflections, and personal practice.
The commencement weekend of the training will be an opportunity to design and teach a one hour practice to the rest of the class.
You will receive ongoing feedback regarding your teaching and overall participation in the training.
Be an eager student, participate with an excitement to learn, and be open to any and all information and feedback.
-
No. Our goal is to make this program accessible to all. We are offering a payment program that breaks the total tuition into 6 easy payments.

Our YTT Class of 2024 graduated in May! Yay!
We currently do not have a 200hr YTT planned for 2025. We are curating our 300hr YTT to give BEND 200hr YTT Graduates, and community 200hr RYT’s the opportunity to deepen their understanding of yoga. The 300hr YTT will begin in May 2025.
