“This place where you are right now, was circled on a map for you. Wherever your eyes and arms and heart can move against the earth and sky, [the Beloved] has bowed here knowing you were coming.” Hafiz

The new year is not meant to be a time to beat yourself up for all the things you didn’t accomplish over the previous 12 months. That’s called “gap thinking” and it’s no good for you…

I hope instead you have celebrated all your wins and the small things that have brought you to this place where you are right now. This is referred to as “gain thinking” and we like it a lot more.

The Hafiz quote above reminds me over and over and over again, I’m right where I’m supposed to be… and so are you. As we welcome a new year, I invite you to lean into this consideration (that you’re right where you’re supposed to be) every time you roll out your mat, every breath, every hard decision, every blissful success.

Maybe, just maybe the process in the practice is so much greater in value than what you think you might get out of it. So, practice being surprised by the outcome. Open to seeing what’s possible, by embracing what IS.

… And trust that when life feels hard, or messy, or doesn’t seem like it’s unfolding how you planned, or isn’t the best EVER, or a “never had you dreamed of this moment” situation, it’s still ALL for you.

Each breath, each down-dog, and each movement of “your eyes and arms and heart”, are a trajectory towards something beautiful - your life.

Stay open.

How are you staying open this New Year?

How are you trusting that you are exactly where you are meant to be?

Tell us, we’re listening.
